John Lee

General Counsel at Ivo, has over 17 years of corporate legal experience. His career ranges from time in BigLaw, to working in-house at Alphabet’s venture arm CapitalG, and now a more hands-on role at a legal tech startup.  I had the pleasure of sitting down with John to learn more about him and his thoughts on the impact of AI on the corporate legal landscape.

 

Jacquie Cook

Ms. Cooke has served as Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer and Secretary at Weight Watchers since August 2024, prior to which she served as our General Counsel and Secretary from March 2024 to July 2024. Prior to joining weight watchers, Ms. Cooke most recently served as General Counsel & Privacy Officer at 23andMe Holding Co. (“23andMe”), a genetics-led consumer healthcare and therapeutics company, from February 2022 to January 2024. She previously served as 23andMe’s Deputy General Counsel from March 2018 to February 2022 (including also acting as Privacy Officer from February 2020 on) and Associate General Counsel from April 2015 to February 2018. Prior to joining 23andMe, Ms. Cooke served as legal counsel to Genomic Health, Inc., a provider of genomic-based diagnostic tests that help optimize cancer care, from 2012 to 2015. She previously worked as an attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP from 2006 to 2012. Ms. Cooke received a B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, a M.P.P. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

 

Alex Touma

Alex represents companies of all sizes and in a variety of industries including blockchain, cryptocurrency, payments, fintech, software, semiconductor and mobile technology companies. He also advises companies on technology related matters including development and licensing agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, distribution agreements, hosting agreements and sourcing transactions.

Earlier in his career Alex served as Senior Counsel for a Bay Area technology startup where he focused on commercial and intellectual property law matters including drafting and negotiating a variety of technology agreements, managing patent and trademark portfolios, and providing general legal advice on intellectual property matters such as open source, trade secret, copyright, patent, and privacy issues. Alex’s prior experience also includes working at a leading global law firm as an intellectual property litigation associate representing technology companies. Before starting his law career, Alex obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science and briefly worked as an automation engineer. This prior experience gives Alex a unique viewpoint, which he is able to leverage in his transactional practice.
