Intellectual Property Deep Dives for In-House Counsel: Navigating IP Risks in Contract Liability Clauses
Event Description
Liability clauses in agreements often contain hidden risks that can have significant implications for a company’s intellectual property and financial exposure, particularly when potential IP infringement is at play. Without careful attention during contract negotiations, these risks may go unnoticed, leaving the company vulnerable.
Join us on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 12 pm ET / 9 am PT as Dave Stevens of the Stevens Law Group, will provide insights designed to equip in-house counsel with the tools to identify and mitigate IP risks embedded in contract liability clauses.
Dave will discuss how to:
- Spot Hidden IP Risks: Learn how to identify potential pitfalls in liability clauses that may impact intellectual property rights or result in financial exposure.
- Understand Common Contract Language: Analyze typical liability provisions to uncover risks that can arise during negotiations, and
- Utilize Strategies for Negotiation: Gain practical approaches to drafting, revising, and negotiating liability clauses to protect your company’s IP assets.

This program is designed for general practitioners/corporate generalists, intellectual property attorneys, legal operations professionals, and in-house counsel who negotiate intellectual property contracts/provisions for their organizations.
