Lucy Bassli 

Lucy is an attorney, the author of The Simple Guide to Legal Innovation and CLM Simplified: Efficient Contracting for Law Departments. In her time as Assistant General Counsel of Legal Operations and Contracting at Microsoft, she redefined how legal work is done and created one of the first managed service engagements with her alma mater’s law firm, Davis Wright Tremaine. Lucy also served as a Deputy General Counsel and first Head of Legal Operations at Snowflake. Her subject matter expertise is commercial contracting.​​

Lucy was tapped to teach the Legal Operations course for Suffolk University Law School’s Legal Innovation & Technology Certificate Program. Lucy is also a strategic advisor for LawGeex, an AI legal start-up that automates contract review.​

Lucy is a highly sought-after legal industry expert who works with corporate legal departments and law firms on legal service delivery, automation, smart risk-taking, and alternative resourcing models. She educates and consults with lawyers to take best practices in the legal industry to a new level. ​​

With a legal career spanning over 25 years, Pat has experience in both the public and private sectors. Over half of Pat’s career has involved serving as an in-house legal counsel. Pat has advised C-suite and senior executives in all legal aspects of company operations. Her extensive experience partnering with executive teams, supporting business clients, and executing in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment has been instrumental in revenue and business growth. Pat oversees Westwood’s Legal team and legal functions, including risk management and compliance, contract negotiations and client service agreements, litigation and dispute resolution, employment matters, and mergers and acquisitions. Leila Hock, Director of Legal Business Enablement and Alignment, Stryker

 

Leila is the Director of Legal Business Enablement and Alignment at Stryker. In this newly created role in the Global Legal Operations function, she works to elevate Stryker Legal as a competitive advantage by aligning and optimizing contracting processes and increasing operational synergy with the business. Leila has more than 17 years of experience in the legal profession. She began her career in big law in Chicago before going in-house as a commercial lawyer for Kraft Foods supporting global procurement contracting. After Kraft, she served as the first and only US lawyer for a Canadian oilfield services company, with a focus on building policies and practices to support a growing business. She then founded an executive coaching practice supporting mid-to-senior level lawyers before joining Diversity Lab in 2018. At Diversity Lab, she held roles of increasing responsibility and scope over six years, most recently as the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer before moving into her first “official” legal operations role at Stryker in early 2024.
