+

Event Description

Your outside counsel is already using generative AI, whether you see it or not. For corporate legal leaders, the challenge is making sure what feels like magic—speed, cost savings, and efficiency—doesn’t morph into monsters like data leaks, hallucinated case law, or Frankenstein work product. This session provides a practical framework for evaluating and governing how your firms bring AI into your matters, so you can capture the benefits without unleashing the beasts.

Join us on Thursday, October 30, at 3:00 ET as  Cat Casey, Chief Growth Officer at Reveal and a recognized authority on legal AI and eDiscovery, Carl Morrison, Senior Manager at Otsuka, Jack Thompson, Senior Manager, Legal Technology at Freddie Mac, Sadie Khodorkovsky, Managing Director, Global Head of E Discovery at JP Morgan Chase, Richard Robinson (TMNA) Director, Legal Operations and litigation support, and Scott Milner, Global Head and practice group at Morgan Lewis, provide practical guidance on how in-house counsel can set expectations, build oversight processes, and ensure that outside counsel’s use of GenAI aligns with your company’s risk tolerance and business objectives.

Rather than hype or horror stories, you will get clear, actionable guidance on managing GenAI risks while aligning law firm adoption with your risk tolerance and business objectives. Think of it as your survival guide for navigating the haunted house of AI — spotlighting where to proceed, where to pause, and where to slam the door shut.

Key Takeaways:
  • Essential due diligence questions to ask firms about their GenAI policies, data security, and matter-specific protocols, especially in ediscovery
  • Contract provisions and cost frameworks that ensure accountability and transparency in AI-assisted work
  • Quality control processes that prevent GenAI-driven work product from turning into a Frankenstein draft
  • Strategic approaches for balancing innovation with risk management while capturing genuine efficiency gains

Who Should Attend:

This session is designed for in-house counsel who engage and oversee outside counsel, particularly those focused on compliance, litigation, eDiscovery, and legal operations. If you want to be a smart buyer of legal services in an AI-enabled world, this program will give you the tools to do it effectively.
